What the basic tips you Need to paid attention to when using the solar inverter?

    Mar 17,2023 | Daxtromn power

A solar inverter is a device that converts DC (direct current) energy from solar panels, lead-acid batteries, lithium batteries, or other sources into AC (alternating current) energy that is typically 220v 50Hz sine or square wave. In simple terms, a solar inverter is an energy storage inverter that converts DC to AC. It is composed of an inverter bridge, control logic, and filtering circuitry. Solar inverters are widely used in air conditioners, home theaters, power tools, sewing machines, DVD players, VCD players, computers, televisions, washing machines, range hoods, refrigerators, VCRs, massagers, fans, lighting, and other applications.

In summary, an inverter is an electronic device that converts low-voltage DC power (12 or 24 or 48 volts) into 220-volt AC power, while a photovoltaic inverter has an added option of using solar energy or charging batteries. Since we typically use rectified DC power to create AC power, the inverter performs the opposite function and is given its name accordingly. We live in a "mobile" age, where mobile offices, communications, leisure, and entertainment are commonplace. While in a mobile state, people not only need low-voltage DC power supplied by batteries or battery packs, but also require the 220-volt AC power that is essential in our daily environments. Inverters can fulfill this need for us.

Things to note when using an inverter:

    1. The DC voltage must be consistent. Each inverter has a specific input DC voltage value, such as 12V, 24V, 48V, etc. It is necessary to choose a battery voltage that corresponds to the input voltage of the inverter. For example, a 12V inverter must use a 12V battery. Select the appropriate battery cable according to the instructions, and since the battery current is large, the wire diameter should be larger than the recommended size.

    2. The output power of the inverter must be greater than the usage power of the appliance, especially for appliances with high starting power, such as refrigerators and air conditioners. There should be a sufficient margin in power, and for high-frequency inverters, reactive power must also be considered, generally 3-7 times the power usage. For example, if your air conditioner has 3000W power, you should consider using a high-frequency inverter with at least 9000W power.

    3. The positive and negative poles must be connected correctly. The DC voltage input of the inverter is marked with a positive and negative pole. The red color represents the positive pole (+), and the black color represents the negative pole (-). The battery is also labeled with a positive and negative pole, with red for the positive pole (+) and black for the negative pole (-). When connecting, the positive must be connected to the positive (red to red) and the negative to the negative (black to black). The wire diameter must be thick enough, and the length of the connection wire should be minimized.

    4. Place the inverter in a ventilated and dry place, prevent rain, keep at least 20cm away from surrounding objects, and avoid inflammable and explosive products. Never place or cover other items on the machine, and use at a temperature below -40℃.

    5. For inverters that use fans for cooling, place them as far away from living rooms as possible because the machine will create noise when running.

    6. For inverters without BMS functions, it is essential to know your battery parameters and set the inverter charging parameters according to the battery's parameters.

    7. The interval time between two startups should not be less than 5 seconds (power off input power).

    8. Always use a dry cloth or anti-static cloth to clean the machine to keep it tidy.

    9. Before connecting the input and output of the machine, ensure that the casing of the machine is correctly grounded.

    10. To avoid accidents, it is strictly forbidden for users to open the chassis for operation and use.

    11. As inverters are generally heavy, if they are to be hung on indoor walls, ensure that the wall has sufficient strength, keep them out of reach of children to avoid electric shock, or prevent the inverter from falling and injuring someone.
