Advice from internal technology of DAXTROMN POWER inverter controller manufacturer
Many people privately asked me about the issue of battery charging. In fact, many people don’t know that battery charging is divided into constant voltage charging and constant current charging.
Constant current charging method:
The constant current charging method is a charging method that keeps the charging current intensity constant by adjusting the output voltage of the charging device or changing the resistance in series with the battery. The control method is simple, but because the acceptable capacity of the battery gradually decreases with the progress of the charging process. In the later stage of charging, the charging current is more than the electrolysis of water, and gas is generated, which makes the outgassing excessive. Therefore, the stage charging method is often used.
Constant voltage charging method:
The voltage of the charging power source maintains a constant value during the entire charging time. With the gradual increase of the terminal voltage of the battery, the current gradually decreases. Compared with the constant current charging method, the charging process is closer to the optimal charging curve. Fast charging with constant voltage, because the electromotive force of the battery is low at the initial stage of charging, the charging current is very large, and the current will gradually decrease as the charging progresses. Therefore, only a simple control system is needed. Charge. However, the current is too large at the initial stage of charging, which has a great impact on the life of the battery, and it is easy to bend the battery plate, causing the battery to be scrapped. In view of this shortcoming, constant voltage charging is rarely used, and it is only used when the charging power supply voltage is low and the current is large. For example, during the operation of the car, the battery is charged by the constant voltage charging method.
Combining the above characteristics, our shop has developed a PWM pulse charging + 4-stage controller
What is PWM charging method? the
Features of series pulse width modulation (PWM) technology The solar controller adopts advanced series pulse width modulation (PWM) mode, 0 to 100% wide range PWM regulation can charge the battery quickly and stably under any system conditions. The PWM charging method is to charge the battery with a pulse current that automatically changes the duty cycle, so that the pulse charging can make the battery fully charged more safely and quickly, and the disconnection period allows the oxygen and hydrogen generated by the chemical reaction of the battery to have time to recombine And being absorbed, the concentration polarization and ohmic polarization are naturally eliminated, thereby reducing the internal pressure of the battery and allowing the battery to absorb more electricity. The pulse charging method enables the battery to have a sufficient reaction time, reduces the amount of gas evolution, and improves the acceptance rate of the battery for charging current.

Introduction to 4-Stage Charging of Lead-Acid Batteries
BULK CHARGE direct charge
In the direct charging stage, the battery capacity has not reached 100%, and the battery voltage has not yet reached the voltage point of equal charging. At this time, the controller will transfer all the energy of the photovoltaic panel to the battery.
ABSORPTION CHARGE constant pressure charge
When the battery voltage reaches the equalizing charging voltage point, the controller will use PWM constant voltage technology to maintain the battery at the equalizing charging voltage point to prevent the battery voltage from continuing to rise and cause heat generation and gas evolution. This stage will last for 2 hours until the battery is fully charged , Next, the charging will be transferred to the float charging stage.
FLOAT CHARGE floating charge
When the battery is fully charged in the constant voltage charging phase, the controller will reduce the battery voltage to the float charging voltage point. Generally, when a battery is fully charged, its internal chemical reactions stop and all charging current is converted to heat and gas. The float phase provides a very low current to maintain the battery state of charge while minimizing heat and gassing. Float charging can supplement the normal self-loss of the battery and maintain the battery's health.
FQUALIZE CHARGE balance charge
Certain battery types benefit from periodic boost charging to stir the electrolyte, balance the cells, and complete the chemical reactions. Equalizing charging raises the battery voltage higher than the standard absorption voltage and vaporizes the electrolyte. Regular equalization cycles are especially important to battery performance and life, especially in solar systems where sulfuric acid is consumed during battery discharge while soft lead sulfate is produced at the plates. If the battery is kept in a partially discharged state, the soft crystals can become hard crystals over time. This process, known as "lead sulfation," over time makes the crystals harder and harder to convert into the soft active material. The long-term battery deficit state leads to sulfuration, which is the main cause of battery failure. In addition to reducing battery capacity, sulfate buildup is the most common cause of plate bending and cracked grids. Deep cycle batteries are especially prone to sulfation. If the battery is already charged, the normal charging process can convert the sulfate into a soft active material. However, solar rechargeable batteries are rarely fully charged, so the soft lead sulfate crystals harden over time. Only long-term controlled overcharging, or equalization, can reverse the hardening of sulfate crystals at higher voltages.
For lithium iron phosphate batteries, many customers will always encounter some problems when using daxtromn power inverters. Lithium iron phosphate batteries need to be set to custom mode first, usually set in 05, and then set BULK CHARGE and FLOAT It is very important to set CHARGE to be the same, otherwise the battery may not be able to charge the set voltage

Here I would like to tell those buyers who like to short-circuit the positive and negative poles of the battery to cause a lot of sparks to judge that the battery has power. will explode), sparks cannot be used as a criterion for judging whether the battery is charged, please use a multimeter and other voltage measuring instruments correctly! ! !
