    What Is Hybrid Solar Inverter?

    Jan 20,2023 | Daxtromn power

What is a hybrid solar inverter?

Hybrid inverters cover high and new technologies such as grid-connected photovoltaic technology, off-grid power generation technology, battery charging and discharging technology, energy storage technology, power distribution technology, etc. When the power supply of the grid is normal, generally speaking, the mixed-network inverter device turns off the relay to realize the power supply of the grid to the household electrical load; However, Daxtromn power has more advanced technology. When the power grid is normal, it only uses the power grid to compensate for the insufficient load of solar energy. This can maximize the use of solar energy. It is not necessary to directly invert the electrical energy through the battery to the load, thus protecting the battery. When the grid power supply is abnormal (such as grid power failure, large fluctuation of grid voltage or frequency), the equipment can supply power to the household electrical load through the battery after the inverter, and even the Daxtron power can directly use solar energy to supply the load without connecting the battery. When the sunlight intensity is appropriate and the photovoltaic power generation function is normal, the inverter can also transmit electricity to the grid and sell electricity to the grid to obtain income.

What is the difference between solar off-grid inverter and solar hybrid inverter?

Off-grid solar inverters generally give priority to the use of solar energy for load, and can also use the energy from the grid and batteries to power the load.

The grid-connected inverter is used for the grid-connected solar system and cannot be connected to the power load. All DC power generated by photovoltaic power generation will be converted into AC power by the grid-connected inverter and directly sent to the grid. For grid-connected solar systems, batteries are not required.

However, hybrid inverters with solar cell charging can be used for off-grid and grid-connected applications, so the batteries can be flexibly configured, and even some models can work without batteries. These solar inverters are called high-voltage inverters. Generally, the PV input voltage requirements are 120-450V. If the battery is not connected, the voltage requirement for stable operation is generally 250-360V

    Advantages of hybrid solar inverter

Realize direct power supply from solar energy to load, power grid to load, and even work without battery, reducing the demand for battery

The hybrid solar inverter can directly supply power to the load from the grid when the grid is normal, which is different from the traditional off-grid system, and does not need to supply power to the load through the battery. This can greatly reduce the demand for batteries and reduce the system cost.

And most of the DAXTROMN POWER models realize hybrid power supply, that is, the solar panels provide part of the power, and the rest is supplied by the grid. They also compensate for power supply, reduce battery use, improve battery life, and even do not need to connect the battery.

    With standby power supply function

When there is no power grid or the power grid is unstable, the hybrid inverter can start the battery to supply power to the load to avoid power failure.

Revenue can be obtained by selling electricity

The hybrid inverter can transmit the electricity generated by photovoltaic power generation to the grid, and sell the surplus electricity to the grid after removing part of the electricity used by itself (which requires the support of local policies of the country or the permission of the power company) to obtain income.

How does the solar hybrid inverter work?

The solar hybrid inverter consists of the following units.

Grid-connected unit, which obtains solar energy from the photovoltaic panel and DC combiner box, stabilizes the DC voltage through the solar controller, and sends the photovoltaic power to the public grid after the inverter unit.

When the grid power supply is normal, the off-grid inverter unit supplies power to the load through the bypass relay, while charging the battery pack. When the grid power supply is abnormal, the off-grid inverter unit supplies uninterruptible power to the load through the battery. At this time, if the photovoltaic module generates electricity, the load can be powered by the photovoltaic off-grid inverter unit and the battery can be charged at the same time.

Switching unit, which is used to realize photovoltaic power supply to the load through switching relays and other equipment when the lighting conditions are appropriate and the public power grid is abnormal.

Hybrid unit, which directly mixes solar energy and power grid to supply power to the load

Other auxiliary units, such as isolation unit and battery management unit, are used to realize the management of battery packs, incoming and outgoing meters, photovoltaic panels, etc.
